The Blue Milkweed Beetle is a common leaf beetle found worldwide and also in Thailand. The Cobal Milkweed (Chrysochus cobaltinus) is a dark vilolet blue colored species occurring in the USA. The greenish blue species or is known as Dogbane (C. auratus) also in the USA and East Asia. The dark blue species (C. hageni) of the USA is very similar to C. chinensis Baly, 1859 which occurs in China. However, According to Kimoto & Gressitt (Esakia (18): 1-141, 1982) the correct name used is Chrysochus pulcher Baly, 1864. These insects feed on milkweed plants especially Calotropis gigantea and Asclepias curassavica. They are occasionally found in longan branches as well.
ด้วงดอกรักสีน้ำเงิน หลายคนคงเห็นและรู้จักด้วงชนิดตามต้นรัก หรือต้นเทียนแดงและพืชที่มียางบางชนิด ด้วงชอบกินใบและดอก บ่อยครั้งที่พบว่ามีด้วงผสมพันธุ์กันที่ต้นรักเกาะติดกันเป็นคู่ๆ เมื่อเวลาที่เราเดินเข้าใกล้ด้วงจะทิ้งตัวลงจากยอดที่เกาะแล้วบินหนีไปอย่างรวดเร็ว ด้วงดอกรักสีน้ำเงินมีหลายชนิดและพบแพร่หลายทั่วโลก บางชนิดมีสีน้ำเงินอมม่วง สีน้ำเงินเข้ม ไปจนถึงน้ำเงินอมเขียว ซึ่งเมื่อสะท้อนกับแสงอาจจะออกเหลือบสีแดงได้ด้วย
